Whistleblowing

A protected route for reporting suspected fraud, serious misconduct or abuse of authority.

Community context

Our commitment

Whistleblowing concerns are different from ordinary service feedback because they may involve wrongdoing by someone with authority or access to organisational resources.

Reports should be assessed independently, handled on a need-to-know basis and protected from retaliation. Deliberately false allegations are not accepted, but a concern raised honestly does not need to be proven before it is reported.

What this means

  • Suspected fraud, theft or corruption
  • Serious safeguarding failures
  • Abuse of authority or conflict of interest
  • Attempts to conceal significant wrongdoing
