Safeguarding

Nawiri Impact Africa is committed to creating safe environments for children, adults, communities, staff and partners. We work to prevent exploitation, abuse and harm and respond appropriately when concerns are raised.

Community context

Our commitment

Safeguarding is part of programme design, recruitment, partnership and daily conduct. Everyone representing Nawiri is expected to understand their responsibilities and act when something does not feel right.

Reports should be handled promptly, confidentially and by people trained to respond. Information is shared only where it is needed for safety, fair process or legal responsibility.

What this means

  • Do no harm and place safety first
  • Make reporting understandable and accessible
  • Respond without retaliation or blame
  • Refer serious concerns to appropriate services
